Still an Inconvenient Youth: Ructions Within EFF Inner Circle Continue

Still an Inconvenient YouthThere is never a lack of drama where the Economic Freedom Fighters are concerned.

The latest commotion is about the financial involvement of “sushi king” Kenny Kunene and Gayton McKenzie, his business partner, with the EFF leaders’s personal affairs – something which party leaders Julius Malema and Floyd Shivambu have vehemently denied.

“The revelations of Malema and Shivambu being financially bankrolled by the two were contained in an open letter penned by McKenzie two weeks ago. But the EFF leaders denied benefiting and Shivambu wrote his own open letter challenging Kunene and McKenzie to present proof that they had come to the financial rescue of the EFF leaders and had paid money to the party,” Mashoto Lekgau writes for Rand Daily Mail. Apparently proof exists, showing the contrary.

Still an Inconvenient Youth: Julius Malema Carries On by Fiona Forde looks at the continuing story of Malema from his numerous court cases to his bold move back into politics by founding a new political party and analyses the sources of Malema’s wealth, exploring his seamless approach to business and politics.

Sushi king Kenny Kunene and his business partner Gayton McKenzie have bankrolled EFF leaders despite vehement denials by its leaders.

Sowetan has seen electronic copies of business class airplane tickets for a round trip from Johannesburg to Durban for Julius Malema which Kunene paid for. Malema made the EFF business trip in July 2013.

Kunene also bought new tyres for EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu’s BMW 7 series which cost him about R10 000.
