Tony Leon spoke to John Maytham on 567 Cape Talk following the failure of the DA and Mamphela Ramphele’s political agreement to have Ramphele run as the party’s presidential candidate. The former DA leader discussed what the party’s next step should be if they don’t reach their targets in the upcoming general elections.

“I think the party needs to, you know, fight the election and it will and I’m sure they’ll do it competently and that will concentrate the minds,” Leon says. “Afterwards, when there’s more time available, there needs to be a critical introspection of what have we done, what lessons have been learnt, how do we go forward.”
