Corruption and Fraud Case Against Julius Malema Postponed Until September 2014

An Inconvenient YouthThe corruption and fraud case against EFF leader Julius Malema was postponed until September 2014 this morning, reports the Mail & Guardian and IOL News. Malema is facing charges of fraud, corruption, money-laundering and racketeering but will be in court next Thursday and Friday to make the case for why the fraud charges should be dropped.

Malema addressed his supporters after the postponement saying “I will never betray you. I did not steal from you. I will never steal from you. I will never do that to you.”

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema will be able to contest South Africa’s 2014 general elections without having to answer to allegations of corruption against him.

On Monday, the case of fraud against him and four others was postponed in the high court in Polokwane until September 2014.

EFF leader Julius Malema has denied stealing from South Africans, saying he has no criminals in his family.

“I will never betray you. I did not steal from you. I will never steal from you. I will never do that to you,” he told his supporters outside the Polokwane High Court on Monday shortly after his corruption trial was postponed to next year.
