Dlamini said that the book is an astonishing revelation of just how hard prison life was and what Madikizela-Mandela had to face. After reading the book you really have a sense of the power of the police state in 1969, Dlamini said. He says the letters between Nelson Mandela and Madikizela-Mandela are poignant and mentions that Mandela signed off his “with a million kisses”.
