Patricia Glyn Chats to O Magazine About What Dawid Knew and “Chasing Spooks”

What Dawid KnewPatricia Glyn, eco-adventurer and author of What Dawid Knew: A Journey with the Kruipers, chatted to O, The Oprah Magazine about living with the Khomani San tribe in the Kalahari to research her book and how Dawid Kruiper decided to entrust her with his secrets. Glyn says that rather than calling her job eco-adventuring, she think it’s better described as “chasing spooks”:

If she had a chance to live her life again, Patricia Glyn would have made exploring the world her job much sooner. She started off as a TV and radio journalist, but, since leaving her full-time broadcasting job, she has canoed sections of Africa’s largest rivers and spent three months on Mount Everest. Recently, she journeyed to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, which straddles the South Africa-Botswana border, where she spent time with the Khomani San bushman tribe and its leader, Dawid Kruiper. In What Dawid Knew (PanMacmillan), the author relates the experience of what must be South Africa’s most famous bushman. Here, she shares what she learnt from writing the book, being in the desert and living with bushmen:
