Tweets from the RHCC launch of Eusebius McKaiser’s A Bantu in My Bathroom
Last night, Eusebius McKaiser visited the the Rabbi Cyril Harris Community Centre (RHCC) in Glenhove, Johannesburg, to launch his book, A Bantu in My Bathroom.
McKaiser discussed his essay on South African culture and national identity from the book, saying that we need to mature as a nation and start accepting diversity. This was followed by a Q&A session, which kicked off with a debate about Brett Murray’s controversial painting, “The Spear”. McKaiser also took the opportunity to thank Louise Grantham from Bookstorm for her editing advice.
Pan Macmillan tweeted from the event, using #RHCC:
On my way to speak about my book, A Bantu in My Bathroom, at the RHCC in Glenhove. A full house expected. Am very excited.

Accepting diversity is a big point for @eusebius, a way we, as a nation, can “mature”. Stop looking for homogeneity #RHCC

We need to role model the kind of SA we want. We have missed the opportunity to meet the true meaning of liberal democracy. @eusebius #RHCC
