Video: Eusebius McKaiser Explains the Provocative Title of His Book A Bantu in My Bathroom
Creamer Media’s Shannon de Ryhove interviewed Eusebius McKaiser about his book, A Bantu in My Bathroom: Debating Race, Sexuality and Other Uncomfortable South African Topics.
McKaiser discussed the title of the book, which comes from an incident debated in the first chapter, where a woman advertised a room for rent but specified that only white people were welcome. McKaiser discussed this on his radio show and found that many South Africans agreed that she had a right to limit who was allowed in her home. McKaiser said that he wrote about this as a critique of people’s racialism:
