Eric Miyeni, author of A Letter from Paris, writes in his column in the Sowetan that the South African government seems to be “enamoured with whites in business”. However, he has personally experienced “substandard service” from some of these businesses.

OUR government is constantly pandering to white South African business. We are busy “opening up” Africa through our foreign service but always with whites on tow or blacks who are fronting for whites.

This appears to be intensifying under the new regime, proving that we have a government with absolutely no faith in the majority of its citizens when it comes to business.
