My Brother's BookJo-Anne RichardsJohannesburg author Jo-Anne Richards‘ latest novel, My Brother’s Book – her fourth to date – is a compelling tale of loss of innocence and atonement.

Richards, who is currently an academic co-ordinator in Journalism and Media Studies at Wits University, is also the author of The Innocence of Roast Chicken, Sad at the Edges, and Touching the Lighthouse.

Here is a clip of Richards reading from the first few pages of My Brother’s Book, which opens with the narrator’s recollections of her childhood in the Eastern Cape town of Cathcart:
